Abstract

The article substantiates the relevance of anthropometric measurements of the dimensional characteristics of children’s figures of boys and girls of different age groups in order to study the nature of changes in dimensional characteristics to improve the quality of the fit of children’s clothing. Materials and methods. The work uses materials from an anthropometric study of schoolchildren in Uzbekistan. A mass measurement of children’s figures was carried out, the sample was 3217 people. The results of these mass anthropometric measurements were processed by the methods of variation statistics. Statistical processing was carried out for each age and gender group of children separately: primary school age, senior school age, adolescence. For each trait, the main statistical parameters were determined that characterize the size and variability of the trait in the sample, as well as the degree and nature of the correlation between the traits. Results. During the statistical processing of the anthropometric material for each of the characteristics, variation series were compiled and indicators characterizing the average value and indicators characterizing the variability of the dimensional characteristic were calculated. Regional differences in anthropometric indicators, given the values of body length and chest girth of boys and girls by age and region, were revealed. Analysis of the dynamics of growth in body length and chest girth of different age and gender groups of schoolchildren by region and comparison of the results with the data of GOSTs showed that there is a difference in the development of children Discussion. Peculiarities of the growth and development of children’s figures, annual growths of dimensional signs determining dimensions, which are the basis for the development of a new dimensional typology of children and the design of a school uniform adapted to the age-related dynamics of dimensional characteristics of the children’s body, are revealed. The introduction of the results of this work at enterprises producing children’s clothes contributes to the successful sale of garments and increase consumer satisfaction with commensurate clothing.
