Moscow University Anthropology Bulletin (Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta. Seria XXIII. Antropologia) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original articles of a theoretical and methodological nature with an emphasis on the physical conditions of the population of modern Russia, monitoring of spatial and temporal/secular changes in physical development and the main morphofunctional characteristics, and environmental effects that cause these changes. In the first place, the journal provides opportunities for the publication of unique data reflecting the regional patterns of the somatic development in Russian population of different age categories, the results of screening of urban and rural groups, modern indigenous and migrant populations living in various environmental conditions. This is important for further studies on adaptability of Russian population to the current environment. Due to its particular interests, the journal takes some special place among other Russian scientific periodicals. The journal also provides an opportunity for professional communication to a wide range of specialists whose works cover a range of related problems. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary research in anthropology, paleoecology and other scientific fields. The structure of the journal includes original scientific articles, scientific reviews, book reviews and a chronicle of academic and scientific events. 

The Journal operates a “double-blind peer-review” policy. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and suitable manuscripts are sent for peer review. The reviewers are leading researchers in the field of biological, historical anthropology and researchers in the neighboring scientific fields from different Russian research institutions.

Peer-reviewed journal «Moscow University Anthropology Bulletin (Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta. Series 23. Anthropologiya)» is published 4 times a year since 2009 by Anuchin Research Institute and Museum of Anthropology, Lomonosov Moscow State University.
This periodical publishes results of basic research in the field of anthropology and related scientific disciplines, which are closely connected with the main topics of the Journal and achieved in different Russian research institutions as well as those of the neighboring countries.
As a basic scientific edition, the journal accepts for publishing only original works (such as articles, short reports, book reviews, information on current scientific events etc.) and articles on the history of anthropology in Russia.
