The article is aimed at describing ethnographical collection of artifacts from the coastal and inner regions of Alaska, housed in the ethnographic department of the Lomonosov MSU, Research Institute and Museum of Anthropology. The collection is dated to the first half of the 19th century, when the territory was a part of Russia as Russian America. The artifacts composing the collection represent materials collected by L.A. Zagoskin (1808–1890) during 1842–1844 scientific expedition. New biographical facts of the researcher, history of the expedition, the first anthropological depiction of the native populations along the Yukon River are presented. The collection was transferred by L.A. Zagoskin to the first Ethnographical Exhibition (1867) organized by the Natural history, Anthropology and Ethnography Society of amateurs. The composition of collection is considered and detailed description of the artifacts with illustrations is provided.
