Comparison was made of the dependency between support surfaces of the working place height parameters (table, chair, feet stand) estimated from the body size and obtained experimentally by ergonomic calculations. Two series of the experiments were held to define the height correlation between the support surfaces of the working place elements. Method of the subjective scaling was used. The subjects were offered to estimate the height of several tables with the words «comfortable – uncomfortable». The series differed by the height of the seat. In the 1st series the height of the seat was constant for each of the subjects, in the 2nd series it was picked up individually and was equal to the length of their legs. As for the constant and for the changeable height of the seat, those heights of the tables were declared as the most comfortable, which were standing from the surface of the seat at the distance of 270–280 mm. This parameter calculated on the base of body size equals 295 mm, which is a little bit bigger than the one obtained experimentally. The differences may be explained by the relative posture of subjects during the collection of anthropometric data. There is no straight-forward dependency between the height of the working place and the height of the subject. The height of the working surface is connected to the body height indirectly through the height of the seat. The height of the feet stand is always connected with the height of the seat.
