Abstract

The aim of the present work is to reveal tendencies of intra- and intergroup body fat variability in girls of Moscow and Arkhangelsk city for the last 20 years. 2279 girls at the age of 8-16 years were surveyed. The data on intragroup and intergroup difference in average values, secular changes in body fat and body composition and percentile graphic standards of BMI are presented. It is shown that modern schoolgirls of Arkhangelsk city are significantly ahead of girls in three other groups. An insignificant increase in body weight of all modern girls, in comparison with their counterparts measured in the 1980’s, has occurred because of increasing of the fat mass.
