Introduction. The aim of the study was to investigate the social aspects of the system of psychosomatic relationships as one of the integrate group characteristics. Materials and methods. We compared the sample of Russian students from MSU and the sample of international students from RUDN. The study was conducted in the framework of the Agreement on scientific cooperation between Moscow State University and RUDN University, with the main focus on the problem of international students’ adaptation as a part of the broader issue of biological and social impact on the microevolutionary processes in modern human populations. The anthropometry was conducted, and the data on self-esteem was obtained. In our work we applied a differentiated approach to the study of several special self-esteems to avoid any possible leveling results in the process of averaging. Results. For the girls of RUDN the high negative regression coefficients between morphological characteristics and indicators of self-esteem were detected. In the sample of MSU students, high differences are revealed in the importance of special self-esteems. Discussion. The vectors of psychosomatic associations in the sample of the students from RUDN can reflect the traditional national views about the relationships between certain features of the appearance, health and beauty. The predominance of negative associations for the girls from RUDN reflects the high level of adaptation stress in the complicated, new social situation. The results for MSU sample allow suggesting different roles of special self-esteems in the development of the overall structure of psychosomatic relationships. Conclusion. The levels and vectors of psychosomatic associations develop in a specific social context and may reflect the degree of the general adaptation stress. The approach proposed in the paper can be considered as a new perspective method of comprehensive study of different social and ethnic samples.
