Abstract

The comparative analysis of non-metric traits in late Scythian and Sarmatian groups has been carried out. It is shown that late Scythian populations of Crimea and Lower Dnepr made a uniform genetic community. Similarity of late Scythians to Sarmatians indicates the participation of Sarmatian tribes in formation of late Scythian populations. The traces of cross-breeding of Sarmatians with Slavic tribes are revealed.
