90th anniversary of the department of anthropology in M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University: history and prospects

Abstract

In connection with the 90th anniversary of Anthropological department in M.V. Lomonosov MSU history of development of anthropology in Russia is examined. The authors describe how the Department was organized at Moscow University, its first steps (1920’s –1930’s, pre-war period), post-war time (1940’s –1950’s), the important boundaries in the development of the Department in 1960’s –1990’s, modern stage and future prospects for the 3-d millenium.
