Abstract

The article describes the subject and the results of one of the structural units of the Institute and Museum of Anthropology (the so-called «Perevozchikov’s group») on the basis of which a modern laboratory is organized. The main feature of ongoing research is a population-based approach. The latter is understood as an evolutionary method mainly based on individual variability. Research has produced some innovative data on some issues such as cross-breeding, Eurasian gene flow, as well as population physiology, psychophysiology, growth and development of children and adolescents, composite portraits, ethnic anthropology and race research.
