Abstract

Marriage records have been used to study the ethnic marriage assortativeness in rural population of Uigur and Zhambylsky districts. In Uigur district the ethnic marriage assortativeness for rural Kazakh, Uigur and Russian populations was 2.31, 1.62 and 26.0 respectively; in Zhambylsky district - 1.21, 26.48 and 5.86.
